What Comes After Love


What Comes After Love (Korean: 사랑 후에 오는 것들) is an upcoming South Korean melodrama web series written by Jung Hae-sim, directed by Moon Hyun-sung, and starring Lee Se-young and Kentaro Sakaguchi. Based on the novel of the same name, it depicts a love that goes beyond national boundaries between a Korean woman and a Japanese man. It is scheduled for release on Coupang Play in 2024.

Synopsis

It is about a fateful love that unfolds when Hong (Lee Se-young), who was studying in Japan, meets Jungo (Kentaro Sakaguchi) and reunites in Korea for the first time in five years after suffering a mournful love and separation.

Production

Development

Director Moon Sung-hyun, who directed the films The King's Case Note (2017) and Seoul Vibe (2022), took the megaphone and also his small screen directorial debut. Jung Hae-sim served as the writer of the series. Silver Lining Studio with Contents Seven managed the production.

Casting

Lee Se-young and Kentaro Sakaguchi were reportedly cast to play the main characters of the series in July 2023 and officially confirmed in December 2023.

Hong Jong-hyun was reportedly cast to play as one of the lead characters for the series in January 2024 and officially confirmed in March 2024.

Filming

The filming of the series began in early 2024 between South Korea and Japan.

Release

Coupang Play announced that the series will be released in 2024.
