Thomas Winkler


Thomas Laszlo Winkler (20 de noviembre de 1985, Zollikofen, Suiza) es un músico, abogado y notario suizo, quien es conocido por haber sido el vocalista de la banda de power metal británica Gloryhammer desde 2012 hasta 2021, y lanzó tres álbumes completos con ellas. Winkler ha interpretando los papeles de "Angus McFife, Príncipe de la Tierra de Fife" y su descendiente "Angus McFife XIII" en la historia interna de la banda. También interpretó el papel de Angus McSix, Starlord del sistema estelar Sixtus.

A veces se le acredita en los álbumes como Angus McFife (varias apariciones especiales incluido Victorius, Nanowar of Steel, Feuerschwanz (en los álbumes Die Letzte Schlacht el álbum en vivo y Die Giorrichen Sieben CD extra de portada del álbum Memento Mori en 2021) y Grailknights), Thomas y Son of God (Distant Past), Angus McFife XIII, Crown Prince of Fife (Gloryhammer) y Angus McSix, Starlord of the Sixtus Stellar System (Angus McSix)

Historia

Nacido y criado en la localidad de Zollikofen, comenzó su carrera musical el año 2009 tras terminar sus estudios de en la Universidad de Berna como Maestría en Derecho por uniéndose a bandas suizas de heavy metal Emerald y T-Rage.[1]​ Tiempo después prestó voces para la banda china de power metal Barque of Dante en el sencillo emitido el año 2011 "Way of Your Life".

En 2010, subió a internet un vídeo como audición para vocalista de la banda británica Dragonforce, cuando el cantante principal ZP Theart se fue.[2]​[3]​ Esto llevó a que Christopher Bowes, líder de la banda de folk metal pirata escocés Alestorm, lo descubriera y le ofreciera formar parte de su nueva banda, Gloryhammer, en 2012.[3]​[4]​ Con la banda ha aportado su voz en 3 álbumes de estudio.[5]​ El 22 de agosto de 2021 la banda anunció por medio de un comunicado que Thomas deja de ser miembro de Gloryhammer.[5]​

El 4 de julio de 2022, Winkler anunció que había formado una nueva banda llamada Angus McSix. El primer álbum "Angus McSix and the Sword of Power", que fue lanzado primero en Japón el 19 de abril de 2023 por Avalon/Marquee Music y fue lanzado el 21 de abril de 2023 por Napalm Records.[6]​
