Beyoncé albums discography

American singer and songwriter Beyoncé has released eight studio albums, five live albums, three compilation albums, five EPs, one soundtrack album, and two karaoke albums. To date, Beyoncé has sold over 200 million records worldwide as a solo artist, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Billboard ranked her as the 37th greatest artist of all time.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recognized her as the Top Certified Artist of the 2000s decade. According to RIAA, Beyoncé has sold 30.5 million albums in the United States. As of November 2023, the RIAA lists her total certified sales as a solo artist (including features) as over 174 million in the United States.

Beyoncé's career began as the lead vocalist of Destiny's Child. She released her first solo album, Dangerously in Love (2003), during the hiatus of Destiny's Child. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. With "Crazy in Love" and Dangerously in Love, Beyoncé became the first female artist—and the fifth artist ever—to top both the singles and albums charts simultaneously in the United States and the United Kingdom. Dangerously in Love has sold 11 million copies worldwide.

After the disbandment of Destiny's Child in 2005, Beyoncé released her second studio album, B'Day (2006), which received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who directed most of the acclaim towards its sonic quality and Beyoncé's vocal performance. A commercial success, the album debuted atop the US Billboard 200, selling over 541,000 copies in its first week. B'Day has been certified quintuple platinum by the RIAA and, as of 2013, has sold over eight million copies worldwide.

Beyoncé's third album, I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), was a double CD set, intended to reflect the two facets of her personality. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. I Am... Sasha Fierce has earned one diamond and over thirty platinum certifications in separate worldwide markets, being certified six-times platinum by the RIAA after shipping over six million units in the United States. It has sold ten million copies worldwide, and is her second album to become one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century. I Am... Sasha Fierce garnered seven Grammy Award nominations at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony (2010), including a nomination for Album of the Year.

Beyoncé's fourth studio album, 4, was released in June 2011 and debuted atop the US Billboard 200 chart. It was her fourth consecutive album to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200, and it also reached number one in Brazil, Ireland, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Her self-titled fifth album, Beyoncé, was unexpectedly released to the iTunes Store in December 2013 and debuted atop the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming her fifth consecutive number one album in the United States. After just three days of sales, Beyoncé became the fastest-selling album ever on iTunes, both in the US and worldwide. The album was nominated for five Grammy Awards at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards (2015), including Album of the Year.

Beyoncé's sixth studio album Lemonade was released on April 23, 2016, after an hour-long accompanying video premiered on HBO. Lemonade is one of the most acclaimed studio albums of Beyoncé's career. The album was music critics' top album of 2016, and was named the greatest album of the 2010s by publications such as the Associated Press. In 2020, the album was placed at number 32 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. Lemonade was nominated for nine Grammy Awards at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards (2017), including Album of the Year. The album won a Peabody Award in Entertainment.

Beyoncé's seventh studio album Renaissance was released in July 2022 and debuted atop the Billboard 200, becoming her seventh album to do so. The album was praised by music critics for its eclectic yet cohesive sound, joyous mood, and Beyoncé's vocal performance. It became the best-rated album of 2022, named the best album of the year by publications such as the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone. Renaissance and its songs garnered nine nominations at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards including Album of the Year.

Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé's eighth studio album, was released in March 2024 and debuted at number one in several countries across the globe, including the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom, while breaking several chart and streaming records. With its US number one debut, Cowboy Carter helped Beyoncé become the first woman to debut their first eight solo albums at number one on the Billboard 200. It also became the first album by a black woman to top the Top Country Albums chart.

Beyoncé's collaborative music albums include Everything Is Love (2018), an album with her husband Jay-Z, as the Carters, and the film soundtrack The Lion King: The Gift (2019). Homecoming: The Live Album (2019), which chronicles her 2018 Coachella performance, has been heralded as one of the best live albums of all time, lauded for wide-reaching curation from many eras of black musical history.
